Data on the place of women in society and economy across different countries
Scores assessing different gender-based data in 90 countries in 2000, 2005 and yearly for the period 2010-2018. This dataset contains 990 observations across 12 variables:
ID: character string indicating the code of the country (ISO3) and the year.
country_name: character string indicating the name of the country.
country_code: character string indicating the country code (ISO3 code).
year: integer indicating the year.
pct_women_senior_middle_mgmt: number indicating the percentage of women occupying senior or middle management positions. Data for this variable is available for the years 2000, 2005 and 2010-2018 across 90 countries.
gender_development_index: number indicating the score of each country for the gender development index. Data for this variable is available for the years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010-2018.
gender_inequality_index: number indicating the score of each country for the gender inequality index. Data for this variable is available for the years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010-2018.
pct_women_nonagricultural: number indicating the percentage of women working a nonagricultural job. Data for this variable is available for the years 1991, 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010-2018.
pct_women_stem: number indicating the percentage of women who graduated from a stem programme in tertiary (higher) education. Data for this variable is available for the year 2018.
pct_women_parliament: number indicating the percentage of women holding a seat in the parliament of their country. Data for this variable is available for the years 1995, 1997, 2000, 2005 and 2010-2018.
pct_women_intimate_partner_violence: number indicating the percentage of women who have ever experienced violence from an intimate partner. Data for this variable is available as the average for the years 2005-2019.
pct_women_nonintimate_partner_violence: number indicating the percentage of women who have ever experienced violence from an nonintimate partner. Data for this variable is available for the year 2019.
pct_women_bank_account: number indicating the percentage of women with account at financial institution or with mobile money service provider. Data for this variable is available for the years 2011, 2014 and 2017.
